Although the AppalReD Low Income Taxpayer Clinic receives funding from the IRS, the clinic, its employees, and volunteers are not affiliated with the IRS. A taxpayer's decision to use the tax clinic's services will not impair the taxpayer's rights before the IRS.
Our clinic personnel do not prepare tax returns, but they can refer you to locations that will prepare returns for free.

LITC Pro Bono Program
Law students and attorneys interested in gaining tax controversy experience, while helping Kentucky families, should consider participating in AppalReD’s LITC Pro Bono Program.
AppalReD’s pro bono panel assists the tax clinic. Pro bono volunteers may work on site or remotely.
AppalReD represents clients before the IRS and Kentucky Department of Revenue. With regard to tax controversies in the United States Tax Court, AppalReD serves both the Charleston, WV and Louisville, KY trial locations.
