Equal Justice Works Attorney Fellow: Project Renew/Medical Legal Partnership Staff Attorney - Prestonsburg Office - Submission Deadline: October 25, 2024
The Equal Justice Works Opioid Crisis Response Program mobilizes lawyers (Attorney Fellows) to provide education and direct civil legal services to opioid crisis affected communities in need of legal services. This program focuses on removing legal barriers and providing access to wraparound services and treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) clients in underserved communities.
AppalReD Legal Aid is recruiting for an Attorney Fellow in its Prestonsburg Office to launch a Medical Legal Partnership that eliminates barriers to recovery and self-sufficiency arising from OUD. In addition to directly representing clients, the fellow will develop educational materials and providing trainings for healthcare staff; gain insights from healthcare staff about top needs of OUD-impacted patients and the medical intervention points; implement a legal screening tool and referral process; and be available on-site at health clinics to meet with clients.
