Eviction Halted
A fifty year old disabled man lived in public housing for eight years. He was given an eviction
notice that cited issues that were never brought up to him by the housing authority. AppalReD
attempted to negotiate with the housing authority to prevent a court action, but the housing authority
proceeded. AppalReD then requested a jury trial. AppalReD representatives argued that
the gentleman should be given a written notice of the housing authorities concerns and an opportunity
to correct any deficiencies.

The jury found that the housing authority failed to prove
any serious or repeated violations of the lease. Today the gentleman continues to live in the same location.
